The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

A reminder on Black Jack Webdoujin Anthology project. Just hope no one has forgotten about it since I haven't had any submissions from anyone in the last couple of months and I'm feeling a little nervous that perhaps I launched this project a little too late. O_O;

5. I admit to not liking a large majority of AMVs (Note: Not all, just a lot). There's only been... 2 that I liked. 1 sparked my interest so much that I went and brought the DVD boxset.

6. After much resisting, I finally gave in and watched Hetalia yesterday.

7. I'm a spoonyone fan.

8. Not so fond of taking the bus, I'd rather walk or take the train.

9. I like curry, but can only take it if it's mild.

10. I still get excited whenever I see the numbers 178. XD;

Yes, very few are able to impress me. The kind of AMV that irritates me the most are one of slideshows with fanart in them, because you know these people haven’t asked permission to use them.

I hate it when that happens. Sometimes it takes a month or two for me to completely get over a cold. @.@ Oh! I haven't been sick lately (thank goodness), just in the past I've had that happen. XD

I think this irritation applies more to very popular fandoms. If I can't find a single footage of a rare anime then an AMV is a good alternative.
